American Horror Story Season Nine Title Unveiled

Series creator Ryan Murphy has just shared some big news for fans of “American Horror Story” with the unveiling of the season nine title and video clip.

It is quite apparent that the upcoming theme for season nine will be a throw-back to 1980’s slasher films and we couldn’t be more excited. With all the hype and popularity surrounding all things retro these days, it only makes sense for Murphy and the rest of the “American Horror Story” creative team to grab their piece of the pie.

AHS SEASON 9 is called…

A post shared by Ryan Murphy (@mrrpmurphy) on

The video clip that Murphy posted shows a young girl fleeing for her life from some sort of knife-wielding horror film character. The season will be title “AHS 1984” and that is only appropriate as a ton of classic cult horror films were released in that year such as “Nightmare On Elm Street”, “Friday the 13th’s supposed “Final Chapter” and “Children Of The Corn” to only name a few.

We also love that the clip used the haunting music of Billie Eilish’s “Six Feet Under” which is incredibly fitting for the promo!

Emma Roberts is coming back to season 9 and her boyfriend will be played by Olympic silver medalist freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy. It has not yet been revealed whether or not we will be seeing a return of Sarah Paulson, however, we would be incredibly surprised if she didn’t make an appearance, as well as, fan favorite Evan Peters, although it has been said that he may be taking a break this season.

“AHS 1984” will be premiering this fall, so stay tuned for additional news and casting updates!
