Pablo Schreiber Cast As The Master Chief In Upcoming ‘Halo’ Series

Canadian actor Pablo Schreiber, best known for his roles in both “American Gods” and “Orange Is The New Black”, has been cast as The Master Chief in the highly-anticipated “Halo” tv series coming to Showtime.

The “Halo” TV series has been trying to get off the ground for quite some time now, as directors Neill Blomkamp, Paul Scheuring, and Ridley Scott have all tried and failed to make it happen, before Showtime and Amblin Television, the TV production company belonging to Steven Spielberg, took over in 2018.

The Master Chief from the “Halo” series is described as the most technologically advanced warrior on the Earth in the 26th century. The soldier represents humankind’s final hope against invasion by the Covenant, a powerful alliance of multiple alien races which seeks to sow destruction and chaos in the galaxy.

We now finally have some additional details about the upcoming project, as in addition to Schreiber being cast as The Master Cheif, actress Yerin Ha has also signed up for the series. Ha will play Quan Ah, a 16-year-old described as daring and smart. She comes from the outer colonies, planets colonized by humans where anarchy reigns, and she stumbles across the Master Chief by chance at just the right time. The two actors will come face-to-face before long in Budapest in Hungary, where filming for the series will start this year.

The plot for the series is said to follow the very first video game ‘Halo: Combat Evolved” and thus far Showtime has lit the green light for a ten-episode series, which was just recently reduced to nine.  The adaptation has been entrusted to showrunners Kyle Killen (Awake) and Steven Kane (The Last Ship). They’ve promised a series full of action and adventure, which will offer an intimate perspective on the thoughts of the Master Chief and his entourage while depicting a rich, inspired futuristic vision.
