Avengers: Endgame hasn’t even officially left theaters yet, but that hasn’t stopped Disney from initiating a re-release. As of right now, the film is currently the second on the all-time list for worldwide box office grosses. Avengers: Endgame is roughly $38 million short of claiming Avatar‘s #1 spot and the record. As a result, Disney is hosting a “bring back” event for the film this weekend that will offer an exclusive poster and “new footage.” Find out more infor below!
Avengers: Endgame Re-Release Info & Poster
Starting on Friday, June 28 at participating theaters, fans will get the chance to experience the film in theaters one more time. Here are the details of the Avengers: Endgame re-release, via the press release from Marvel:
Fans who buy a movie ticket will receive an exclusive piece of Avengers art (available in select theaters and until supplies run out) and will also be treated to a video introduction by director Anthony Russo and an unfinished deleted scene from the film, and it will be a chance for fans to get a head start on the upcoming Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Far From Home” via a special sneak peek!
The “new footage” is essentially a deleted scene (most likely unfinished), with a video introduction tacked on. It will be interesting to see how well this strategy plays out for Disney since there’s only one wide release this weekend in Yesterday. This means little competition, but will additional footage, and a poster be enough to entice audiences back? It might depend on how much footage is showcased from Spider-Man: Far From Home.
It’s tough to say, however, if this will be enough to give Endgame the boost that it needs to dethrone Avatar. Ironically, The mouse House now owns Avatar, which means that Disney is mainly wrestling with shadows here. But suffice to say that the poster is easily the most enticing part of this re-release. It’s an exciting and fun design that plays on minimalism. The hard part will be finding a theater that doesn’t run out of them quickly.
Below, you can find the poster that will be at participating locations (while supplies last). What are your thoughts on the new cut of Avengers: Endgame? Make sure to let us know in the comments section below!
