Alexander Skarsgard Takes On The Role Of Randall Flagg In Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’ Series

Yet another member of the Skarsgard family will be taking on the role of a villain in the Stephen King universe with Alexander Skarsgard playing Randall Flagg, aka The Man In Black in the upcoming CBS All Access series of Stephen King’s “The Stand”.

It is said that the upcoming series will consist of ten episodes and will also star James Marsden (Westworld), Amber Heard (Aquaman), Jovan Adepo (The Leftovers), Odessa Young (Assassination Nation) and Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why).

In “The Stand”, the character of Randall Flagg is a charismatic, demonic leader who is the head of a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas. He is preparing for the final showdown between good and evil, and is determined that his side will win. Flagg’s character was introduced in “The Stand”, but is also a character that is prominent in King’s “Dark Tower” book series as well!

Appearing on ABC’s The View, Stephen King also confirmed several new cast members. As well as Skarsgård, we’ll be seeing Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost), Owen Teague (Bloodline), Brad William Henke (Orange Is the New Black) and Daniel Sunjata (Manifest) in the mini-series. The adaptation of The Stand is expected on CBS All Access sometime in 2020.
