It is with great sadness that we share the news that “Goodfellas” actor Ray Liotta has passed away at the age of 67. While there has no official cause of death to report at this time, sources say Liotta died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic.
Liotta was in the Dominican Republic shooting the upcoming film “Dangerous Waters” and he had just completed filming roles in the upcoming “Cocaine Bear” directed by Elizabeth Banks and was set to star in “The Substance” (working title) opposite Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley. Sources go on to claim that no foul play is suspected and there was nothing suspicious about his death.
Liotta became a household name with his breakout role in the Martin Scorsese helmed 90’s film “Goodfellas” and prior to that his role in “Field of Dreams” as Shoeless Joe Jackson. It seems Liotta took a bit of a break from the spotlight, but had recently been picking up quite a few projects. We last saw him in “The Many Saints of Newark”, “Marriage Story” and “No Sudden Move”.
Liotta also appeared in several television projects including the Apple TV+ series “Blackbird” opposite Taron Egerton and a recurring role on Prime Video’s “Hanna”. From 2016 to 2018 he starred with Jennifer Lopez in the NBC drama series “Shades of Blue”. He also earned a Primetime Emmy award for his guest-starring role in “ER” back in 2015.
Liotta is survived by his daughter Karsen and his fiancée Jacy Nittolo. The pair were set to be married soon. Our sincere condolence go out to Liotta’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
