The band is bringing back their heavier sound for their forthcoming release ‘Dinosaur’

Theory of a Deadman kicked off the Rock Resurrection Tour a few nights ago at Hard Rock Live in Gary, Indiana. The tour is the band’s first U.S. run in awhile, and on this episode of the Talk This Way Podcast, frontman Tyler Connolly revealed exclusively that they are already planning to go out again this fall for a second leg with Skillet and Saint Asonia.

The band’s new album Dinosaur is slated to arrive exactly one month later on March 17 via Roadrunner. The band have released another new song from the album – “Two of Us (Stuck).” The track comes on the heels of previous singles “Ambulance” and “Dinosaur.” Returning to their classic riff-rock sound, Theory of a Deadman are once again cranking out they down n’ dirty rock music that they’re best known for.

“We always were trying to do something different,” Connolly stated. “That ‘Rx’ record was very different. I think personally, for me, I had run out off riffs and rock ideas. We came off of our fifth record Savages which was our heaviest album, and I just felt burnt. I was like, ‘I’m just over it, I want to do something different,’ and I felt a huge connection to doing something more of what our Wake Up Call album was. More piano-based.”

Watch the rest of the chat now above as Tyler talks more about the new album, coming full circle from the shortened ‘Theory’ moniker, and much more.

In addition to the double-platinum breakthrough album Scars & Souvenirs (2008) and gold-certified The Truth Is… (2011), Theory have notched a procession of hits, including the gold-certified “All Or Nothing,” “Bitch Came Back,” and“Lowlife,” platinum-certified “Angel,” “Hate My Life,” and “Not Meant To Be,” double-platinum “Bad Girlfriend,” and triple-platinum “RX (Medicate).”

As the biggest smash of their career thus far, the latter hit, off their 2017 album Wake Up Call, marked their third #1 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart and garnered a nomination for “Rock Song of the Year” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Their impressive catalogue has also logged two Top 10 debuts on the Billboard 200 and amassed more than 1 billion collective streams on Spotify alone and over 675 million views on their official YouTube.
