National Irish Whiskey Day is celebrated annually on March 3rd. The date was chosen to coincide with the birthday of a historical figure named John Jameson, who founded the Jameson Irish Whiskey Distillery in Dublin in 1780.

John Jameson was a Scottish businessman who moved to Ireland to manage a distillery in the late 18th century. He eventually bought the distillery and began producing his own whiskey, which became a popular brand known for its high quality and smooth taste.

Over time, Jameson’s whiskey became a symbol of Irish culture and heritage, and the company became a major player in the whiskey industry. Today, Irish whiskey is recognized as one of the world’s most popular types of whiskey.
