Yes Chef, the hit FX show The Bear is returning this June for a second season. The show premiered last June on Hulu, and was a hit amongst fans and critics. The show was nominated for Best Comedy Series at the Critics Choice Awards, and Golden Globe Awards.
The Bear follows a young chef from the world of fine dining that comes home to Chicago to to run his family’s Italian sandwich shop after the suicide of his older brother, who left behind debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff. The show stars Jeremy Allen White as the young chef. Also starring is Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, and Abby Elliott. The show was created by Christopher Storer.
The sandwich shop interior is copied from the real-life Chicago shop Mr. Beef on Orleans in River North. Christopher Storer was a frequent patron and friends with the son of the owner. The second season will consist of ten episodes. The show will be available on Disney+ for international audiences outside the US due to the partnership with Star, which also has exclusive access to Hulu content.
