Joe Perry handled vocal duties on the ‘Draw the Line’ track
Aerosmith recently embarked on their final concert tour. After five decades as America’s top rock band, the group is saying farewell. When they kicked things off on September 2 in Philadelphia, fans where dying to know what was in store. The show turned out to be a hit-filled journey through the band’s storied career. Reportedly, Aerosmith spent a significant amount of time rehearsing a ton of songs for the tour, so it was only a matter of time for some rare gems to start sneaking into the setlist.
The first such moment of the tour happened last night at UBS Arena in Belmont, New York. Towards the end of the set, Aerosmith played “Bright Light Fright” for the first time in 29 years. Guitarist Joe Perry – who’s 73rd birthday is today, September 10 – handled vocal duties for the Draw the Line track. Check out the fan-filmed video footage below.
According to setlist.fm, Aerosmith last performed “Bright Light Fright” on August 29, 1994 at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York.
The band’s Peace Out Tour is their final 40-date trek across North America, bringing their storied career to an end. The trek kicked off on September 2 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It is slated to wrap up on January 26, 2024 at Centre Bell in Montreal. The Black Crowes are serving as special guests for the entire run.
While the band has been touring for over five decades, there’s still plenty of tracks that haven’t seen the lights of a stage yet. Their current farewell tour will be their last chance to play any of these songs for the first time. The full list of every song that the band has never performed in concert can be found HERE.
