The highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 horror hit Black Phone is coming to theaters in Summer 2025. The film, produced by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, will continue the story of the mysterious phone that connects its callers to the dead.
Black Phone 2 promises to deliver more scares, suspense and surprises as the phone’s dark secrets are revealed. Fans of the first film can expect to see some familiar faces as well as new characters who will face the phone’s terrifying power.
Thus far there has been no casting announcements and we can only keep guessing as to what the upcoming plot will entail. The original film starred Ethan Hawke, as a child abductor and murderer called the Grabber, and Mason Thames, a 13-year-old boy named Finney who crosses the killer’s path. Director of the first film Scott Derrickson revealed that author Joe Hill did however have some solid ideas for a sequel to the first film.
Actor Ethan Hawke has expressed interest in returning for the sequel, but only if director Scott Derrickson is involved. The Black Phone 2 release date is set for June 27, 2025. It will be distributed by Universal Pictures and is expected to have a theatrical release.
