The festival returns to the Empire Polo Grounds in California this April
In April, Coachella returns to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The festival grounds are fresh off the inaugural Power Trip, which saw titans of hard rock – Metallica, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Tool, and Guns N’ Roses – rip through blistering sets in the desert. While Coachella certainly caters to a different audience, there’s still a few solid rock and alternative acts on the bill, including Blur, No Doubt, Deftones, Sublime, Bleachers, Taking Back Sunday, and The Aquabats. There’s another act, though, that will sure be intriguing for fans.
Alt-rock legends No Doubt are reuniting for their first live performance in nearly a decade. After mounting a co-headlining tour with Blink-182 in 2004, No Doubt went on hiatus. They returned in 2008 and released their sixth album, Push and Shove, in 2012. They performed sporadically over the next few years, before going on indefinite hiatus again in 2015.
For Coachella this year, they seemingly billed as headliners Lana Del Rey, Tyler The Creator, and Doja Cat, but it is unclear when they will play and where exactly they’ll be in the lineup. See the full artist roster and schedule below.
Last year, Blur reunited for an exclusive performance at the Colchester Arts Centre. It was their first live performance together since 2015. They went on to headline Primavera Sound in Madrid, followed by a gig at Wembley Stadium in London. Due to overwhelming demand, a second show as added.
On July 21, 2023, Blur released their ninth LP, The Ballad of Darren.
Blur’s career over the last two decades has been sporadic, to say the least. They released their seventh studio album, Think Tank, in 2003. The record topped the UK Albums chart. The band would go on hiatus following that album cycle, reuniting in 2009 for a full tour that included a headlining slot at Glastonbury. Fans would have to wait over a decade for the next Blur album and live shows. They released their long-awaited eighth studio album The Magic Whip (Parlophone/Warner Bros.) in 2015.
The Coachella Vally Music and Arts Festival is set for April 12-14 and April 19-21 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Pre-sale passes go on sale this Friday, January 19 at 11am PT. Passes can be purchased HERE.
