Yesterday in Miami, Florida, Creed set sail on their highly anticipated Summer of ’99 Cruise. The venture marks the multi-platinum rockers first live performances in over a decade. On guitarist Mark Tremont’s 50th birthday, the band kicked things off appropriately with, “Are You Ready?” Fans on the sold-out ship definitely were. From there, it was a barrage of hits, featuring the likes of “Bullets,” “What If,” “Torn,” “With Arms Wide Open,” and more. They also pulled out the rare gem “Weathered,” which hadn’t been played since 2002.

They wrapped things up with their seminal smash, “Higher,” and sang “Happy Birthday” to Mark Tremonti. With the crowd wanting more, Creed returned for a two-track encore. They performed “One Last Breathe” and “My Sacrifice,” two hit singles from their 2001 chart-topping album, Weathered.

Check out fan-filmed footage from the show below, and the full setlist.

The Summer of ’99 five-day rock excursion set sail from Miami, cruising down to Nassau, Bahamas. In addition to headliners Creed, the trip also features 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, Tonic, Vertical Horizon, Fuel, The Verve Pipe, Tantric, Dishwalla, Nine Days, and Louise Post of Veruca Salt. Due to overwhelming demand, a second cruise was added after the first sold out.

As their reunion kicks off, Creed are celebrating their legacy with the reissue of their multi-platinum Greatest Hits collection on vinyl. Originally issued in 2004 as a limited-edition pressing, the 13-track compilation spans the GRAMMY and American Music Award-winning band’s first three albums (1997’s My Own Prison, 1999’s Human Clay, and 2001’s Weathered) and features such chart-topping singles as“Higher,” “One Last Breath,” “With Arms Wide Open,” and “My Sacrifice.” As a special bonus, the 2-LP set features an etching on Side D that mirrors the cover art.

Arriving on May 24, the double LP album is available for pre-order today. In addition to the standard black vinyl from Amazon, Greatest Hits can be found in a variety of limited exclusives, including Green Smoke vinyl (official Creed store), Orange Smoke (Craft Recordings), Red Smoke (Target), Gray Smoke (Best Buy), and Blue Smoke (Walmart). The collection is also available for streaming and digital download now.

After confirming their music cruises, Creed decided to take their reunion on the road. The band announced plans for an extensive North American tour, set to launch on July 17 at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The run wraps up on September 28 at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Very special guests for the trek will be 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Switchfoot, Tonic, Big Wreck, and Finger Eleven on select dates.

In addition to the headlining shows, Creed will also be putting on a special one-day festival dubbed Summer of ’99 and Beyond with 3 Doors Down, Daughtry, Finger Eleven, Fuel, Vertical Horizon, and The Verve Pipe on Saturday, August 31 at the Glen Helen Amphitheatre in San Bernardino, California.

Due to overwhelming fan response, the multi-platinum rockers have added a second leg the trek. The new round of dates begins on November 2 at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and wraps up on December 5 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. Very special guests for the run will be 3 Doors Down, Mammoth WVH, and Finger Eleven on select dates.

It will be interesting to see if the band decides to play their watershed album, Human Clay, in full on this upcoming tour. This year marks the 25 anniversary of the multi-platinum LP, and the first leg of the tour wraps up on the album’s actual released date – September 28. Creed’s sophomore effort, Human Clay was highlighted by four huge hit singles – “Higher,” “What If,” “With Arms Wide Open,” and “Are You Ready?” The chart-topping ballad “With Arms Wide Open” garnered the band the GRAMMY® Award for Best Rock Song. Since its release, Human Clay has received the rare diamond certification from the RIAA for selling over 10 million copies.

In 2022, Creed celebrated the 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album, My Own Prison. The band reissued the record on vinyl for the very first time. Featuring the hits “Torn,” “What’s This Life For,” “One,” and “My Own Prison,” the multi-platinum album has gone on to sell over 6 million copies in the United States alone.

Creed have not toured together since 2013. Their last studio effort was 2009’s Full Circle, which featured the hit singles “Overcome” and “A Thousand Faces.” Since then, frontman Scott Stapp released his acclaimed third album The Space Between the Shadows in 2019. Guitarist Mark Tremonti churned out four Tremonti albums. Mark, along with fellow Creed members Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall, unleashed four more Alter Bridge albums including the masterful Fortress (2013) and their latest opus, Pawns & Kings (2022).

This year is going to be a busy one for Creed’s Mark Tremonti . Last month, he confirmed has a new solo album on the way. The tireless guitarist announced to fans on his official social media that he is working on new material for the next Tremonti record. According to Mark himself, he’s already written “many new songs” for the project. He and the rest of the band have entered the studio to begin tracking the album.

Tremont’s last solo effort was 2021’s Marching in Time. Released through Napalm Records, the disc hit No. 1 on the UK’s Rock & Metal Albums chart, and cracked the Billboard 200 at No. 184. Produced by frequent collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Falling In Reverse, Limp Bizkit), the album churned out four singles.
