It’s a historic day for WWE. In just a few hours World Wrestling Entertainment will premiere on Netflix. In January 2024, it was announced that Raw would move to Netflix under a $500 million-per-year deal, as the streaming titan looks to offer more live sports.
Raw previously aired on the USA Network. Netflix hosted two NFL Christmas games and the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight. There were some streaming issues with the Tyson and Paul fight, but no problems with the two NFL games. With streaming RAW every Monday night Netflix is putting WWE on a scale that the company has not seen before.
WWE has a stacked card for the premiere episode. We will see John Cena’s farewell tour start. The Rock will make an appearance. Seth Rollins and CM Punk will go one-on-one. Rapper Travis Scott, who created the new WWE Raw theme song, is slated to perform. Liv Morgan defends her title against Rhea Ripley. Other anticipated matchups include Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa, Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso.
The first Monday Night Raw on Netflix kicks off at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on Monday, January 6.
