In the ever-changing landscape of professional wrestling, there is never a dull moment when it comes to news. One of the biggest news items is that WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, is going back to a two-hour format starting next month.

Commentor Joe Tessitore announced on the September 9 edition of the show that Raw will return to a two-hour format starting October 7. Raw will be two hours for the rest of the year. WWE later confirmed the news on all its social media pages.  It is unclear how long the program will run once it moves from the USA Network to Netflix in January.

Raw went to a three-hour format in July 2013. Many fans liked seeing more talent, but many felt like the show dragged on. However, WWE made a lot of money by going in that direction as a company. It was reported by many outlets that many staff members of WWE  backstage at the September 9th taping learned of the time change in real-time, just like the fans.
