The Walking Dead Recap: Season 4 Episode “Inmates”

WD1

(PCM) Oh, boy did we finally get some answers in the latest episode of the hit AMC series “The Walking Dead” titled “Inmates”. First and foremost, finally some Daryl screen-time, although not enough for our liking, but hey, at least we know he is alive! Okay…moving on to more details about the episode.

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read any further unless you have seen the latest episode of “The Walking Dead” titled “Inmates”.

There were definitely some major character reunions happening throughout this episode, as well as, us finally learning the fate of the prison survivors. We can least breathe a sigh of relief that all of the core members of the group are alive and accounted for, even if they are not all together at this time. Also, at the very end of the episode we were introduced to three new characters, which somehow seem to spell out more drama is on the way if you ask me. But at least were are finally able to put a face to that uber creepy radio voice that Daryl and Michonne heard on the radio at the end of last season that uttered the work “Terminus”.

We learned in this episode that Terminus is actually another settlement that offers “sanctuary for all , and community for all” claiming that “all those who arrive, survive”. Not sure Terminus is the exact word I would choose for a sanctuary, but hey, we will just have to wait and see how this one plays out.

WD2Throughout the course of this episode we learned that Daryl and Beth escaped the prison and are on the run together. Beth appears to be doing her best to honor her fathers will and keep her faith intact, while Daryl appears to be losing most of his faith at this point in time. We learned that Tyrese has also survived the prison attack and he took off with both Mika and Lizzie, as well as, baby Judith. You guys really didn’t think they were going to kill off the baby, did you?

Let me stop for a minute before I go any further and talk about Mika and Lizzie. Mika is innocent enough with her big anime eyes and childlike innocence, but Lizzie on the other hand. This little girl has future sociopath written all over her!  Did you take notice of the slaughtered rabbits? If that wasn’t enough, watching her attempt to smother baby Judith to get her to stop crying was downright creepy. She truly appeared to be enjoying watching Judith die in her arms…thank goodness Carol popped back up to save the day.

WD3Yes, Carol is still alive and well and just when Mika, Lizzie and Judith were about to be attacked, Carol saved the day and led them back to safety and to Tyrese. Carol quickly figures out that Tyrese still has no idea she was responsible for the deaths at the prison, so all is safe for now.

As for the rest of the survivors, we learned that Maggie escaped the prison with both Sasha and Bob and throughout the episode was on a quest to find out if Glenn is alive or dead. When she discovers the bus that Glenn was supposed to be on that was carrying people away from the prison to safety has been overrun with walkers she just about loses it. Maggie, with the help of Bob and Sasha, literally obliterates all of the walkers around and on the bus only to find out that Glenn is not among them.

WD4It seems that Glenn never made it out of the prison. He slipped off the bus without Maggie knowing and ended up passed out in an upper tower of the prison during the Governor’s attack. Glenn eventually wakes up, makes his way back into the prison to gather supplies, and then comes up with his plan for escaping the hoard of walkers outside the prison gates. He throws on some riot gear and charges through the hoard of walkers, which was probably the most awesome scene in this episode. He then discovers Tara hiding in a small fenced off area in the prison and convinces her to lend her assistance in helping him find Maggie.

WD5Just as Glenn and Tara are about to take off on their search, Glenn passes out, obviously still weak from his bout with the flu and what he just went through, and Tara is forced to fight off the remaining walkers alone. All of a sudden an army tank pulls up next to her and out pops Abraham Ford, Eugene, and Rosita!

Well, that’s where we are now!  Can’t wait to see what happens when the survivors actually get to Terminus and just how the interaction with Tara, Glenn, and Abraham will go down. The excitement is certainly brewing now!
