(PCM) It has been recently announced the AMC will be bringing a “Preacher” television series to air and that the show runners will be Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
“Preacher” by Garth Ennis is a revered cult-classic comic series and many fans have already begun to express concern at having both Rogen and Goldberg at the helm. However, during a recent chat with Collider at SXSW, Goldberg addressed many of the concerns by assuring fans that they plan to stay as true to the comic as they can. He also went on to say how very excited they are about the project and that it has been something that has been trying to see the light of day for over 10 years.
Sam Catlin, a producer and writer for Breaking Bad, will also join the “Preacher” team as an executive producer and show runner so we can all rest assured that the project will be in good hands. Below you will find AMC’s official description of the series:
“Preacher follows Reverend Jesse Custer, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned His responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making Him answer for His dereliction of duty. Accompanying Jesse on his journey is his former girlfriend and a friendly vampire who seems to prefer a pint in the pub to the blood of the innocent. On his tail is one of the most iconic bad guys in print – an immortal, unstoppable killing machine named the Saint of Killers – a western lone gunman archetype whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill Jesse.”
