(PCM) What seemingly came as a surprise for singer Anita Baker, she learned today from watching the news that an arrest warrant had been issued to her for failing to appear at a creditor’s examination as part of an on-going lawsuit.
The Grammy- winning singer is being accused of failing to pay painters and decorators an amount of over $15,000 for work done on her Michigan area home back in 2011. Baker took to her Twitter account posting the following message that expresses her shock:
WHATTT??!!… sittin’ in the kitchen watching this on TV. BIG time crazy. Atty on his way to TV Station. Devil sho is busy.

A lawyer for the company, Ray Smith Painting and Decorating, claims that they are not trying to give the singer a hard time, but are only making an attempt to get the money that is rightfully owed to his client.
Anita Baker is best known for her Grammy-winning songs “Sweet Love” and “Giving You The Best I’ve Got” back in the 80′s and 90′s. She more recently released a single “Lately” in 2012.
