(PCM) Bakery and restaurant chain Panera has revealed an all new policy regarding their food which is said to be fully in place by the year 2016. The company’s new promise is to remove all artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners and preservatives from the food served in their restaurants.
The decision was made after numerous studies have shown that people have a growing dislike for food that is artificially processed and are more likely to seek out restaurants that are free of artificial substances and feature healthier alternatives.
Paneras’ food policy will not be the only change taking place within the company. They are also revamping the way that individuals both order and pick-up their food, as well as, switching up the baking hours from overnight to daytime in order to give the restaurants a more comforting and cozy feel.
Currently, Panera is about halfway through removing the artificial ingredients from their menu and are continuing to search for alternatives for some of the bakery icing colors. They are also thinking of trying smoked ham which does not use any artificial preservatives.
Paneras’ new policy is also promising transparency to its’ customers and will allow them to easily see the ingredients and nutritional content in its’ food products.
What do you think of Paneras’ new food policy changes? Will it make you more likely to visit their restaurants?
