(PCM) The news has been revealed that Lionsgate has set a release date for the upcoming “Power Rangers” film reboot.
While the director and casting information has not yet been released, we do know that the film is set to open on July 22, 2016.
The details that we know so far is that the story be by executive producer Roberto Orci (Transformer, Star Trek, Amazing Spider-Man 2) and screenwriters Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller (X-Men: First Class, Thor) and will be a modern reinvention of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world.
The plan is create a future franchise for the “Power Rangers” brand, which is incredibly well-known all over the world.
