(PCM) Marvel Studios has revealed the first image from Ant-Man via USA Today!
The first look at the film shows Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man near the Golden Gate Bridge looking a little beat-up and worse-for-wear in his dark hoodie.
Ant-Man, which hits theaters nationwide July 17, 2015, tells the story of Scott Lang, a con-man armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength who must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.
Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Starring in Ant-Man alongside Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas are Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Gregg Turkington, and rapper/actor T.I.
Looks like Marvel is continuing to intertwine and expand their universe with the Ant-Man franchise; John Slatterly is reprising his role as Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s (Iron Man’s) father, meaning Ant-Man will most likely be tied into future Marvel films.
Ant-Man is being directed by Peyton Reed (Bring it On, Yes Man) and the screenplay was written by Adam McKay (Step Brothers, Anchorman) and Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, who are penning the screenplay for Mark Water’s latest adaption of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, set to be released in 2017.
Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) was originally attached as director to Ant-Man but dropped out after 8 years of pre-production due to ‘creative differences’ with Marvel.
