(PCM) Universal Pictures’ sequel to the hugely popular 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2 is still over five months out from release, but fans can tide themselves over with the new official trailer!
Released late Thursday morning, the trailer opens with an a cappella version of the viral “Cups/You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone” sung by the Barden Bellas, all returning for the sequel.
The Barden Bellas, Barden University’s premiere a cappella group, are back, and this time it’s to compete in the World Championship of University a cappella groups.
With the original gang returning and the addition of some new Barden Bellas, the gang is hopeful to overcome the stigma faced by every year’s American entry into the A cappella World Championship and prove that the Barden Bellas are the world’s best a cappella group.
Pitch Perfect 2 stars Brittany Snow, Anna Kendrick, Katey Sagal, Anna Camp, Rebel Wilson, Alexis Knapp, Adam DeVine, Hailee Steinfeld, Ester Dean, Kelley Jakle, and Hana Mae Lee.
Pitch Perfect 2 is helmed by Elizabeth Banks, co-star and producer of Pitch Perfect, and produced by Paul Brooks, Max Handelman and Banks. Writer Kay Cannon returns to the team to pen the next chapter.
