(PCM) The first official trailer for Paramount Pictures’ Terminator Genisys premiered on the official Terminator Genisys Facebook page today, and this latest installment in the series flips the story on its head.
The trailer transports us to the future as John Connor send Kyle Reese, his soon-to-be father, back in time to save his mother, Sarah Connor, from the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger).
Kyle Reese receives a shock when he lands in the year 1984, ready to find and protect Sarah Connor, but instead is saved by Sarah from SkyNet terminators. Sarah explains to Kyle that she was expecting him and that the past had changed from what he’d been expecting.
Things look grave for John Connor as he realizes that SkyNet has hatched an evil plan to attack him from both the past and the future.
Helmed by Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor, Terminator Genisys comes from the screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry).
Currently in post-production, Terminator Genisys stars the terminator himself Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with Games of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney from Divergent as Kyle Reese, Zero Dark Thirty‘s Jason Clarke as John Connor, Matt Smith of Doctor Who, I Saw the Devil‘s Byung-Hun Lee, and The Closer‘s JK Simmons.

Terminator Genisys is slated to open in theaters nationwide July 1, 2015.
