(PCM) Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow released a new extended TV spot for the Wachowski Brothers’ Jupiter Ascending, opening in 2D/3D/IMAX 3D theaters nationwide starting February 6, 2015 on the official Warner Bros. UK Youtube channel today.
Their first original trilogy and screenplay since The Matrix, the Wachowski Brothers’ Jupiter Ascending has seen a few delays in its release date; the film was originally slated for a July 25, 2014 release then was pushed up one week to July 18, 2014.
Several months later, Jupiter Ascending‘s release date was pushed back to February 6, 2015, to accommodate additional time needed to finish over 2,000 special effects shots that most likely went in to creating what star Douglas Booth referred to as the Star Wars/The Matrix-esque universe in which the film takes place.
The film’s release date was pushed back to also allow more time for an effective marketing campaign in order to avoid another box office bomb like 2012’s positively-reviewed Cloud Atlas.
Jupiter Ascending stars Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, James D’Arcy, and Tim Pigott-Smith.
