Warner Bros. Eyeing Leonardo DiCaprio for Joker

Now that Warner Bros. and DC have a Joker origin film in the works with Martin Scorsese as producer, it looks like they are eyeing one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio. Sounds awesome right? Well that’s the plan at least.

Reports say that there is no offer on the table yet for DiCaprio to play Batman’s most famous nemesis but that WB will use Scorsese as bate to reel in the Oscar-winning actor. Funny enough is that THR‘s sources say that the deal for Scorsese to produce the film “isn’t even done yet.”

If all happens to workout, remember this is Hollywood so it’s a big IF, this will mark the sixth time the dynamic duo of DiCaprio and Scorsese have come together. The two have worked together on films such as Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island and most recently Wolf of Wall Street.

Also this is not the first time Leonardo DiCaprio has been eyed for a role in a comic book based film. He was eyed to play the role of Spider-man which ultimately went to Tobey McGuire and also took a meeting with Joel Schumacher to play the role of Robin aka Dick Grayson. DiCaprio turned both roles down claiming that he “didn’t feel ready to put on that suit yet.” Is now the time?
