A24 has released a second trailer for James Franco‘s ‘The Disaster Artist‘. Further exploring the enigmatic nature of Tommy Wiseau during the making of ‘The Room‘, this trailer gives us a better look than the first at what the film is actually about. While the first trailer made Franco’s version of Wiseau lean more toward parody, the new trailer really manages to bring a feeling of earnest-ness that was missing from the former. The story behind the making of what is considered to be one of the worst films ever made is an endlessly fascinating one.
Since premiering back in September, the film has garnered rave reviews and a generous amount of awards-season buzz thus far. Needless to say, people seem to be excited about the potential for ‘The Disaster Artist‘ to be a serious award contender come the end of the year. Franco stars and directs from a script by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. The film also stars Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Josh Hutcherson, Ari Graynor, Alison Brie, Jacki Weaver, and Jason Mantzoukas. ‘The Disaster Artist‘ opens in limited release December 1st, 2017 and goes wide a week later on November 8th, 2017.
