‘Saved By The Bell: The Complete Collection’ Review

Nostalgia is such a great thing. It brings us back to a time where we all enjoyed the simple things and didn’t have to pay bills! Am I right? Well, teen comedy turned Saturday morning hit series, Saved By the Bell is one of the shows that bring back all of the nostalgia, especially if you’re a product of the 80s and early 90s like myself. Saved By the Bell ran from 1987 under its first name of Good Morning, Miss Bliss up until 1994, ending with The College Years. Great news for SBTB fans, Shout Factory has released a totally awesome Saved By the Bell: The Complete Collection boxset!

The boxset includes 118 episodes from the series, including the Saved By the Bell movies, thirteen episodes of Good Morning, Miss Bliss, and The College Years. It also includes a lot of special features. More on the awesome special features later. First let me do a brief rundown of the episodes.

The episodes look just like how I remembered. The sound is also as it was when the episodes originally aired. I did notice that in the earlier episodes, the sound almost echoed. That goes on for the first couple seasons but it’s not a major problem. The viewing is just as enjoyable as I had hoped.

Although I enjoyed all 118 episodes, the special features are this boxset’s highlights. There are a total of six documentaries, including the new “Past Times At Bayside High” documentary. These documentaries are very interesting because you get to hear about what went into the series from those who were involved. You get to hear from the directors, writers, and even some of the SBTB cast. The only negative that I had with the special features is that just a few members of the cast were included in the interviews. The cast members we do get to hear from Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle), Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding), Dustin Diamond (Screech), and Ed Alonzo (Max). So, there’s no Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) included. But the insight from the cast and crew that were featured was great and very informative.

The Saved By The Bell: Complete Collection is one of the best boxsets of a series that I have ever watched. It has so much content and everything that’s included with it is great with close to no negatives. The special features add so much to this set.The boxset has a runtime of approximately 46.5 hours, so it will keep you busy for quite awhile. Shout Factory did such an awesome job with this boxset that fans can enjoy for years to come.

Saved By The Bell: The Complete Collection is available on Amazon.
