Annie(PCM) Columbia Pictures released the final trailer for the family comedy-musical, Annie, starring Quvenzhané Wallis and opening in theaters nationwide December 19, 2014. Watch the final trailer below, after the official synopsis!

A Broadway classic that has delighted audiences for generations comes to the big screen with a new, contemporary vision in Columbia Pictures’ comedy, Annie.

Director/Producer/Screenwriter Will Gluck teams with producers James Lassiter, Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith, and Shawn “JAY Z” Carter, Laurence “Jay” Brown, and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith for a modern telling that captures the magic of the classic characters and original show that won seven Tony Awards.

The Minions Search For Their Master in the First Official Trailer for the Despicable Me Spinoff

Minions(PCM) Universal Pictures captured audiences’ hearts with the hilariously sweet animated 2010 summer hit, Despicable Me, and its loveable minions, the endearingly clumsy assistants of anti-hero Gru.

Finally, Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have released the first official trailer for Minions, a feature full length animated comedy that tells the origins of the lovable sidekicks and their search for a master.

The trailer features the minions’ arrival to a dinosaur-ruled earth, millions of years ago. Their need for organization and purpose leads them to search for a master to follow. After various fatal mishaps befall their numerous masters throughout history (mostly due to their own bumbling actions), the minions are left without leadership.

Without a master, the minions become listless, too unmotivated to even enjoy the life they’ve built for themselves in the Arctic.

Christian Bale Leaves Steve Jobs Biopic

ChristianBale(PCM) Just over a week after screenwriter Aaron Sorkin confirmed Christian Bale’s role as Steve Jobs in director Danny Boyle’s biographical drama, Jobs, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Bale has decided to leave the project.

The Hollywood Reporter cites sources close to Bale as explaining that the actor exited the project after deciding that he wasn’t right for the role. Bale first became attached Jobs after David Fincher was in talks to direct the biopic before being replaced by Danny Boyle.

Seth Rogen recently announced his role in the film, portraying Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Originally, Leonardo DiCaprio was in consideration to play Steve Jobs but he turned down the role in order to star in  Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Reverant.

Scheduled to start shooting in December, it is now uncertain what direction the film will take.

Angus MacLachlan’s ‘Goodbye to All That’ Opens in Select Theaters December 17

Goodbye to All That(PCM) Acquired by IFC Films back in October, writer-director Angus MacLachlan’s Goodbye to All That will open in select U.S. theaters starting December 17, 2014.

Starring Paul Schneider as recently divorced father, Otto, who starts a new life with his daughter, Goodbye to All That marks the directorial debut of Junebug and Stone screenwriter Angus MacLachlan.

After premiering at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, Goodbye to All That was received with heaps of praise from critics. John DeFore calls Goodbye to All That “a surprisingly sexy tale of emotional rebuilding” in his review for the Hollywood Reporter. DeFore also praises star Paul Schneider, saying that he “shines in the role,” and concludes that the film “should have little trouble connecting with viewers beyond the fest circuit.”

First Official Trailer for Furious 7 is Here!

Furious7(PCM) Universal Pictures released the first official trailer for Furious 7, the seventh installment in the hugely successful Fast & Furious franchise.

Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Furious 7.

James Wan (The Conjuring, Saw, Insidious) directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black.

They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell.

Gillian Greene’s ‘Murder of a Cat’ Opens in Select Theaters December 5

MurderofaCat(PCM) Gravitas Ventures recently acquired director Gillian Greene’s independent thriller/comedy Murder of a Cat, setting the film for a limited release in select theaters starting December 5, 2014.

Murder of a Cat marks Gillian Greene’s directorial debut. From the script by New Girl writers Robert Snow’s and Christian Magalhars’, which appeared in 2010’s Black List, Murder of a Cat stars Fran Kranz as Clinton Moisey, a man investigating the murder of his beloved pet cat.

Justin Long and Emmy Rossum Star in Sam Esmail’s ‘Comet’

Comet(PCM) Writer-director Sam Esmail makes his directorial debut with Comet, a romance-comedy-drama that examines the evolution of a couple’s relationship in a parallel universe.

After premiering at the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival, Michael Nordin in his review for IndieWire praised Comet, writing, “A star-crossed romance that often feels cosmic and intimate within the span of a single scene… it’s as appealingly strange, funny, and melancholy as those components suggest.”

Meanwhile, Todd McCarthy of the Hollywood Reporter showed Comet less love in his review, writing, “The writer-director tries very hard to inject new life into the traditional boy-meets-girl romantic dramedy — but way too hard…It’s possible that certain young viewers might connect with the romantic spirit that smolders somewhere under the frantic, motormouthed verbal compulsion on display here, but most will wonder if the effort is worth it.”

Foxcatcher(PCM) Oscar buzz has been building behind director Bennet Miller’s biographical drama, Foxcatcher, ever since the film premiered in France at 2014’s Cannes Festival, winning Miller the best director award.

New Avengers: Age of Ultron Clip!

AVENGERSageofultron(PCM) It’s only Wednesday and it’s already been a big week for Marvel; hot on the heels of Marvel’s exciting announcement for five new films, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Infinity Wars Parts I and II, and Inhumans, the studio gave fans a new clip from Avengers: Age of Ultron after Tuesday night’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC.

The new clip starts out lighthearted with the Avengers all having an unsuccessful go at picking up Thor’s mighty hammer. Thor jokes that they are all unworthy right before a battered Ultron crashes the party and drastically changes the mood.

Marvel Announces Phase Three Plans: Captain Marvel, Inhumans, and Black Panther

CaptainMarvel(PCM) It’s only been a few hours since the news broke and already the internet is aflame; Marvel has announced plans to release three new and exciting films for 2017 and 2018; Black PantherCaptain Marvel, and Inhumans.

Slated for release on November 3, 2017, Black Panther will star rising actor Chadwick Boseman. Boseman received major critical acclaim for his recent performance as Jackie Brown in Tate Taylor’s biopic, Get On Up. In his review of the film, David Denby of the New Yorker praised Boseman, writing “Chadwick Boseman gives a startling and galvanic performance.”
