My Little Pony Marathon on The Hub Network

(Hub) The fun, magical adventures of Ponyville are coming to the Hub Network like viewers have never seen before in the “Hub Network’s My Little Pony Mega Mare-athon.” In this epic, one-of-a-kind marathon starting Monday, August 4 to Friday, August 8 (9 a.m. ET – 7 p.m. ET/6 a.m. PT – 4 p.m. PT), the network is inviting fans to watch all ninety-one episodes back-to-back of all four seasons of “My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.” The episodes will run in the same order in which they originally aired. This fifty-hour viewing event, which also includes “My Little Pony Equestria Girls,” is the biggest in the Hub Network’s history and will bring the beloved ponies closer than ever to viewers by airing fun “Ask a Pony” interstitials showing real people asking each of the mane six questions and each pony answering them. Walken To Play Hook

(PCM) Last year NBC brought back live musical theater with it’s December production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. This year NBC will again provide us with another musical classic Peter Pan on December 4th. It has been reported that Christopher Walken has signed on to play Captain Hook in this classic tale of the boy who doesn’t grow up. It has yet to be announced who will take the iconic part of Peter Pan. But NBC has promised it will stick to theater tradition and the part will be played by a woman. Some of the stars who have played Peter were Mary Martin in the original musical cast. Sandy Duncan in the 1980s, and Kathy Rigby in the 1990s.

Why Don’t You Look More Like Your Mother?

A woman came up to me at a recent event and asked me that very question. Why don’t I look like my mother? Wow. Is that just another way of saying, ‘why is your skin color so much lighter?’ or ‘how is it you have blond hair?’.

My parents told me that when I was born, people came to the nursery in the hospital and would get into arguments when they saw that Eartha Kitt’s baby was a pudgy, white, girl.

Now, I’m not looking to start a debate about genetics. I’m far from an expert, and really, who cares.… Full Story

Nominations For The 2014 Emmy Awards!

(PCM) We were absolutely thrilled to see that so many of our favorite shows are nominated for an Emmy Award this year. Series with top nominations include HBO’s Game Of Thrones, True Detective and The Normal Heart and Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black! In fact, there is even some history making occurring with this year’s nominations, as Orange Is The New Black actress Laverne Cox is the very first transgender person to receive an Emmy nomination. Actress Mindy Kahling and host Carson Daly made the nominations announcements during a press conference this morning. Vikings Returning To San Diego Comic-Con

(History) Vikings will return to San Diego Comic Con on Friday, July 25 with several exciting opportunities for fans, including a panel with exclusive season three footage, an interactive “On the Set” experience and autograph signing. Fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at VIKINGS and have a starring role in their own custom video that can be shared on social media. From the moment fans enter the “back-lot” they will be treated as cast members. Upon entering, guests will create a character profile and choose a weapon of choice. Next, they will meet with hair and make-up artists to become transformed into a fierce Viking and be placed into three scenes complete with Vikings ships, battles, axes and villages. New Teaser For The Final Season Of FX’s Sons Of Anarchy

(PCM) The anticipation for the upcoming final season of Sons Of Anarchy is killing us…but finally we got a little taste in the form of a new teaser to showcase a little bit of the direction the upcoming season is headed. The short teaser trailer features a nighttime shot of Jax riding his motorcycle down an empty stretch of highway. As the camera focuses on his face, we see his face quickly change to that of a skeleton and then back again. The clip is aptly title “Hell Awaits”! The new and final season of Sons Of Anarchy will air on FX Network this fall. Anyone familiar with Hamlet, should pretty much be able to guess where this season is headed as we enter Sons Of Anarchy’s final act. In other Sons of Anarchy news, it has just been revealed that Courtney Love will be appearing in a pivotal story arc this coming season. She has been cast as Abel’s pre-school teacher…yes, you read that correctly!  We can’t wait to see what she does with the character!

A&E Network To Expand Into Africa & Europe

A&E will launch in German-speaking Europe, Iberia and Africa in the fall, announced Dean Possenniskie, Managing Director, EMEA, A+E Networks.  The channel will premiere to 10 million households across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and Portuguese-speaking Africa, following a rebrand from BIO. A&E is home to original content that inspires and challenges audiences to Be Original.  The channel offers a diverse mix of high-quality, uniquely immersive entertainment with signature nonfiction franchises including Wahlburgers, Duck Dynasty, Storage Wars, Barry’d Treasure, Bad Ink and Big Smo.  A&E will also feature locally-commissioned productions and local acquisitions. “These A&E launches will significantly strengthen our channel portfolio across German-speaking Europe, Iberia and Africa,” said Possenniskie.  “In the US, A&E is recognized as a leading creator of quality content that features one-of-a-kind characters and fresh, innovative storytelling.  We are very pleased to bring this acclaimed programming to a wider audience in EMEA.” The launch marks the debut of A&E in Africa, and follows the brand’s European debut in France in November 2013.  The rebrand of BIO to A&E in German-speaking Europe is scheduled for late September, while Iberia and Africa will rebrand in early October.
