Netflix is known for creating shows that are binge-worthy, and 2019 is no different. The show You is one of those shows that will have audiences staying up way past their bedtimes to see what happens next.
The show was picked up by Netflix after Lifetime turned its back on the show. I bet Lifetime is regretting that decision, especially after the show has been such a hit with fans. The show was produced by the producers of the show Riverdale which airs on the CW.
The show is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name. When a brilliant bookstore manager Joe ( Penn Badgley) crosses paths with an aspiring writer named Beck. Joe becomes obsessed with Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and will do anything to be with her. Using his brilliant mind, internet, and social media, Joe gathers the most intimate details about Beck’s life to get closer to her. What starts out as an awkward crush turns into a deadly obsession. Joe will do anything to get with Beck, and those actions sometimes turn deadly.
Season one of You is made up of 10 episodes which were split 50/50 between male and female directors. “You” is currently filming season 2. If you are a fan of dark love stories. I highly recommend checking out “You” which is streaming on Netflix now.
