Netflix Renews The Umbrella Academy For Season 2

It looks like Sir Reginald’s Academy will be keeping the door open as it has just been revealed that Netflix has renewed “The Umbrella Academy” for a second season. We can only imagine what will be in store for these characters after narrowly escaping the end of the world in season one.

Vanya, Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus and Number 5 will once again be reunited with new episodes that are set to begin filming in Toronto this summer. Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and even Justin Min, aka Ben, will resume their respective roles in season two. There will also be some additional casting announcements made later this year for the new season.

The series will continue to explore the comics by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, while Steve Blackman will act as showrunner once again. Executive Producers also set to return alongside Blackman include Jeff F. King (EP), Mike Richardson (EP), Keith Goldberg (EP), Gerard Way (Co-EP), and Gabriel Bá (Co-EP).

The season two order includes 10 one-hour episodes and will be produced by UCP (Universal Content Productions) for Netflix.

The first season of “The Umbrella Academy” is currently streaming via Netflix.
