Oscar winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) directs the action adventure In the Heart of the Sea, based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the Essex.

In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance.  The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick.  But that told only half the story.

(PCM) Warner Bros. Pictures released the first trailer for Etan Cohen’s comedy starring Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell, Get Hard, opening in theaters next year on March 27, 2015.

Get Hard is written and directed by Etan Cohen (Idiocracy, Tropic Thunder) from a screenplay by Jay Martel & Ian Roberts (Key & Peele) from the story by Adam McKay (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Step Brothers) and Jay Martel & Ian Roberts.

Will Ferrell stars as a white collar worker facing hard time in jail and in need of some toughening up. Comically mistaking small business owner Kevin Hart as a hardened street-wise criminal, Ferrell enrolls him as his coach in the 30 days leading up to his sentence.

(PCM) Disney released a new international trailer for their latest adaptation of Cinderella, starring Lily James in the titular role, and while the new trailer doesn’t reveal anything new, it’s worth a watch just for Cate Blanchett’s wickedness as the Evil Stepmother alone.

Sixty-five years after Disney’s classic animated tale delighted audiences, Cinderella is slated to open in theaters nationwide March 13, 2015.

Cinderella stars Downton Abbey‘s Lily James as the glass slipper-losing princess, along with Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother, Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine (the Evil Stepmother), Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden looking very dapper as Prince Charming, and Holliday Grainger (Jane Eyre, The Borgias) and fellow Downton Abbey star Sophie McShera star as the Evil Stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella.

(PCM) Legendary and Universal Pictures released a new trailer for Blackhat, a thriller/action film starring Chris Hemsworth and helmed by Academy Award-nominated director Michael Mann.

Opening in theaters nationwide January 16, 2015, Blackhat plays on a fear that plagues our increasingly technology dependent society as a whole; that the downside of our internet-connected world is the potential for terrorists to hack into world defense systems and wreak havoc worldwide.

Chris Hemsworth plays Nicholas Hathaway, a genius coder turned hacker serving out a 15 year sentence recruited by a government agency to take out a cyber criminal with terrible plans.

“Black hat” is the term applied to a hacker who hacks with malicious intent, destroying or stealing data and exploiting vulnerabilities in systems.

(PCM) Summit Entertainment released a new official trailer for The Divergent Series: Insurgent and its pretty much a full two minutes of Shailene Woodley dodging bullets, leaping onto burning flying houses, and fighting the oppressive powers that be.

The trailer also comes with a new poster, featuring a view from below of a mirrored image of Shailene Woodley and Theo James bursting out of shattering glass windows, guns raised as though they are being pursued.

(PCM) The first trailer for RADiUS’ dramedy musical, The Last 5 Years, starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan in the last 5 years of the young hopeful couple’s failed marriage.

The trailer, clocking in at a little over two minutes, features both Kendrick and Jordan singing their hearts out and is a good tip-off that The Last 5 Years will probably be most enjoyed by someone who is a huge fan of musicals.

Written and directed by Richard LaGravenese (P.S. I Love You), The Last 5 Years is the film adaptation of Jason Robert Brown’s musical based on his own failed marriage to Theresa O’Neill.
