We were able to catch up with Jamie Madrox, one half of the Detriot rap duo Twiztid, who have put together an absolutely amazing third year of their pop culture convention Astronomicon which takes place on February 7th through the 9th in Sterling Heights, Michigan. In this interview, we discuss the many ways in which Astronomicon has continued to grow as it enters its’ third year, the guests that are booked, what Madrox “nerds” out over, plans for new music from Twiztid and more. Q: How excited are you for this third year of Astronomicon? JAMIE MADROX: I’m super excited. I’ve watched it grow like my children over the years and I’ve seen it starting to become its’ own thing and it’s becoming independent on its’ own. The name of actor Bill Moseley and the horror genre go hand in hand, as he has starred in a slew of cult classic films such as “Repo! The Genetic Opera”, “House Of 1,000 Corpses”, The Devil’s Rejects” and the most recent “3 From Hell”. Every fan of Kevin Smith’s early film “Clerks” should certainly be aware of actor Brian O’Halloran who played disgruntled convenience store clerk Dante in the 1994 cult classic. To this very day his signature phrase “I’m not even supposed to be here today!” is without a doubt one of the most infamous film quotes of all time and O’Halloran still enjoys every moment interacting with fans and his View Askew family. O’Halloran is set to appear, along with his “Clerks” co-star Jeff Anderson at the upcoming Astronomicon convention taking place in Sterling Heights, Michigan curated and founded by rappers Twiztid.
