Disney has given us a slew of live-action remakes that have been remarkable such as “The Jungle Book”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Dumbo” and “The Lion King” to name a few and now we can look forward to the upcoming remake of “Mulan”. The new trailer for the upcoming film show’s our favorite Disney warrior “Mulan” who is more than determined to fulfill her destiny and win over our hearts. The film was shot in both China and New Zealand and the scenery looks absolutely amazing. Mulan is played by Liu Yifei, aka Crystal Liu, a star of the big screen in China. Just like in the 1998 cartoon version of the story, her character is engaged to be married but decides to join the army instead, against the will of her family and the orders of the emperor, played by Jet Li. Mulan disguises herself as a man to defend her people against the Hun invasion. The film is being directed by Niki Caro, who was hired by Disney following the success of Whale Rider and The Zookeeper’s Wife. …

While we are just now beginning to finally get our emotions together after the conclusion of “Avengers: Endgame”, Marvel has now given us the first trailer for the highly-anticipated “Black Widow” film. Disney/Marvel unveiled the trailer for the film which fans of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) have been clamoring for since the Black Widow character, played by actress Scarlett Johansson, was first introduced ten years ago in “Iron Man 2”. The “Black Widow” film will mark the start of Phase 4 for the MCU and is slated for release on May 1, 2020. Without being an original story, the film will follow Natasha Romanoff into the traces of her past as a former KGB member. She will have to return to where she was trained, meet up with former colleagues and a sister, Yelena, who in the comic has already taken over the Black Widow character, so perhaps now we will figure out why! Get ready Star Wars fans! Disney+ has just revealed an all-new trailer for the highly anticipated series “The Mandalorian”. The first live-action series set in the universe created by George Lucas will be released on the streaming platform in just a few weeks’ time, on November 12. From what we can see in the trailer this new series is definitely going to be action-packed and we are on the edge of our seats anticipating what will be in store for fans from the series as a whole. The episodes in the series will explore the origins of the bounty hunter, played by Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos), as well as the events which shook up the outer edge of the galaxy after the fall of the Empire, between the films Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Disney unveiled a ton of news at their recent D23 convention which took place in Anaheim, California, as we learned about many of the upcoming series coming to the Disney + streaming service and what will be in store for our heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however fans were eagerly anticipating getting to catch their first look at “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” and Disney did not disappoint! This afternoon, Disney+ made its D23 Expo debut with its first-ever showcase presentation, announcing six new series in development and revealing key details about the highly anticipated streaming service to an enthusiastic audience at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim. Age of the Nerd was onhand to report everything there is to know about all of the new content coming to the service. The event showcased the sweeping array of talent with in-person and video appearances from the stars of Disney+’s slate of originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic and included sneak peeks, trailer premieres, and exclusive news about the service and its upcoming projects. Actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who stars in the Disney+ original film “Lady and the Tramp,” hosted the lively presentation. The new movie takes us to the mountains of China (and New Zealand) for epic training scenes of the troops who master combats moves to perfection, starting with Mulan herself, more determined than ever.
