At long last, we have finally gotten our first look at the highly anticipated film “The Irishman” directed by Martin Scorsese which will be hitting select theaters and Netflix this fall! The first showing of the film is set to take place at the New York Film Festival, whose director Kent Jones is a frequent collaborator of Martin Scorsese. From what we hear the special effects used to create this film took an incredible amount of time, as they were used to change the aging of actors Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci. Since the story will not be told chronologically (and will, therefore, move back and forth in time), the viewer will be able to see the actors’ faces, sometimes young and sometimes old. The film is adapted from Delaware author Charles Brandt’s book I Heard You Paint Houses and focuses on the eventful life of hitman Frank Sheeran, aka The Irishman.
