(PCM) Variety reported on Monday that an animated My Little Pony movie is in the works at Hasbro Studios, set to be released in 2017.
Along with fellow 80’s tv hit series Jem and the Holograms, My Little Pony is one of the first films to be produced through Hasbro’s new Allspark Pictures label.
Producing and financing the film in-house, Hasbro Studios is taking control of My Little Pony and has plans to release the film “on the broadest possible number of screens,” said Stephen Davis, president of Hasbro Studios and global entertainment and licensing for Hasbro Inc.
