In perfect time for the Halloween season, a brand new trailer has been revealed for the upcoming reboot of “The Grudge”. Watch below: Back in 2002, Takashi Shimizu made Ju-on: The Grudge, the first movie in a lengthy Japanese horror series. The film led to a three-part American remake: The Grudge in 2004 (starring Sarah Michelle Gellar), The Grudge 2 in 2006, and The Grudge 3 three years later. The first two films in the trilogy of remakes were directed by Takashi Shimizu himself, while the third installment was directed by Toby Wilkins. Now Nicolas Pesce to try a new take on the Japanese horror classic. This new version of “The Grudge”, which will be R-Rated in the United States, will be hitting theaters in January. The movie is produced by Sam Raimi, of “Evil Dead” fame.

Sam Raimi was at NYCC promoting the new reboot of The Grudge, and that is where Raimi revealed to fans that a new Evil Dead film is in the works. Raimi is the creative mind and director behind the Evil Dead trilogy that took the world by storm all the way back in 1981. Raimi also revealed that Bruce Campbell who has played the infamous Ash in all three films and the Starz Tv show Ash Vs The Evil Dead will act as a producer on the film.
