As Expected San Diego Comic-Con 2020 Is Officially Cancelled!

For the first time in its 50-year history San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), the organizers behind the annual pop-culture celebration, announced today with deep regret that there will be no Comic-Con in 2020. The event will instead return to the San Diego Convention Center from July 22-25, 2021. Recognizing that countless attendees save and plan for its conventions each year, and how many exhibitors and stakeholders rely upon its events for a major portion of their livelihood, they had hoped to delay this decision in anticipation that COVID-19 concerns might lessen by summer. Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year. Similarly, WonderCon Anaheim, which was to have been held April 10-12, 2020 will return to the Anaheim Convention Center from March 26-28, 2021. In addition to their conventions, Comic-Con has been planning a major renovation of Balboa Park’s Federal Building to be completed for the grand opening of the Comic-Con Museum in the summer of 2021. …

Announcement From San Diego Comic Con Coming Shortly Regarding 2020 Convention

It looks like the answer regarding San Diego Comic Con 2020 will be coming soon as news has been posted revealing that the organizers of the massive pop culture convention are weighing out various “financial liabilities” if they decide to move forward with a cancellation due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Things are not looking promising for this year’s SDCC to go on as scheduled as it would be nearly impossible for the organizers to find a way to maintain safe and effective social distancing protocols due to the sheer number of attendees which each year tops over 135,000. Anyone who has ever been to SDCC can certainly attest to the fact that you are literally shoulder to shoulder with other fans over the course of the five-day event, which even spills outside of the convention center and into San Diego’s historic Gaslamp District. As devout fans of SDCC, it certainly breaks our heart to hear about a possible cancellation, however it should also be noted that sources go to say that the organizers are possibly looking into some sort …

Our Exciting Adventure At The FX Fearless Forum At San Diego Comic-Con!

The FX Fearless Forum Activation was a strong highlight of Comic-Con for us, starting with the  “What We Do In The Shadows” experience. We spent a few hours sharing drinks in the vampire house, complete with an open bar in the home, filled with things you’d expect in an old gothic lair, sharing drinks with the vampires from the FX Show, based on the film of the same name. Who doesn’t want to share some time with some vampires who have lived together for hundreds of years? The character actors were in top form, and gave our friend Chicago Pete a new name – ‘Craig the virgin’. Craig will live with his new name forever thanks to these amazing actors! FX also shared a bit of a haunted campground experience with the activation for “American Horror Story: 1984”. We had the best time exploring this themed activation which was absolutely terrifying. Believe us, our screams were real! The actors were once again completely on-point and the folks at FX put an amazing amount of detail into this experience. The sights …
