Weird Al Yankovic’s Word Crimes Designed and Animated by Jarrett Heather

(PCM) Jarrett Heather has been a dedicated lifelong “Weird Al” Yankovic fan, but when Al contacted Jarrett in November of 2014, the only back-story Al had on Jarrett was his own admiration of Jarrett’s work.

Jarrett had previously produced a music video in 2010 called Shop-Vac using a form of design called kinetic typography. Al had his own vision for a music video and believed Jarrett was a fit.

Over the course of almost a year the two then collaborated on that music video exclusively for “Weird Al” to be a part of his new album Mandatory Fun.

(PCM) The king of song parodies has struck again with his latest single “Word Crimes,” a parody of Robin Thicke’s 2013 summer anthem “Blurred Lines.”

Weird Al debuted “Word Crimes” yesterday as the second of eight videos that he is releasing over eight days in promotion for his newly released album Mandatory Fun, the musician’s fourteenth studio album.

“Word Crimes” parodies Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” song and video, which you’re probably already very familiar with if you were alive and conscious during the summer of 2013.

Sir Mix-A-Lot Performs “Baby Got Back” With Seattle Symphony

(PCM) Talk about worlds colliding!  Rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot recently performed his hit song “Baby Got Back” with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Mix-A-Lot called the performance “orchestral movements from the hood night” and requested that the ladies in the audience join him on stage for the song.

So, you can only imagine what a bunch of well-dressed symphony women look like joining him on the stage…it was hilarious! The Los Angeles Times called it a “highbrow take on his lascivious single.”

Sir Mix-A-Lot’s hometown is Seattle and he was performing with the symphony as part of their Sonic Evolution series which has the symphony rewriting hometown singles for classical settings.

Weezer Drummer Patrick Wilson Makes An Amazing Catch!

(PCM) Patrick Wilson, drummer for the band Weezer, made an epic catch during a recent performance and believe it or not did not even skip a beat.

While the band was playing their hit song “Beverly Hills” someone unexpected threw a frisbee on the stage. Wilson caught the frisbee one-handed, placed it in his mouth, and continued to play on as if nothing had happened.
