Once In A Blue Moon…Try Twice In 2014

Blue-Moon1(PCM) A Blue Moon is considered a somewhat rare occurrence, with one happening once every two to three years. The year 2014 will see not only see one, but two Blue Moons set to occur in January and March.

The first Blue Moon occurred on January 30th and the next is scheduled to appear on March 1st, 2014.  February finds itself without a Blue Moon/New Moon this year, which happens every so often due to the calendar’s leap year.

Despite popular theory, a blue moon is not actually blue in color. Blue Moon is a term that is used to describe the third full moon of a season that has four full moons. There are times when the moon can appear blue in color, but that is when dust or smoke particles in the air are of a specific size. Such particles help create a blue colored moon by scattering blue light.

Many believe that a Blue Moon can carry a special energy for the occurrence of mayhem and magical properties. It would without a doubt be one of the best times to think about new beginnings and of course New Year’s resolutions.

Also, the perfect time to bust out this little gem for 1961 by the Marcels…Enjoy!
