Obvious Child in Theaters June 6

Obvious_Child_3(PCM) Ever have one of those weeks where everything seems to go wrong all at once? In Gillian Robespierre’s new romantic comedy Obvious Child, Donna, the main character, finds herself in this exact situation when she learns the true meaning of “when it rains, it pours.”

Obvious Child follows Donna as she gets dumped, fired, and finds out she’s pregnant all in time for one memorable Valentine’s Day.

Obvious Child stars Jenny Slate (The Lorax, This Means War), Jake Lacy (The Office, Better With You), Gaby Hoffman (Uncle Buck, Veronica Mars), Polly Draper (Thirtysomething, Side Effects), Richard Kind (A Bug’s Life, Argo), David Cross (Small Soldiers, Kung Fu Panda), Gabe Liedman (Kroll Show, Inside Amy Schumer), Stephen Singer (A Perfect Murder, The Happening), and Cindy Cheung (Lady in the Water, Children of Invention).

Obvious Child premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to positive reviews and praise. Xan Brookes of the UK’s Guardian said of the film: “Obvious Child might hail from the same grungy sorority as Frances Ha or Lena Dunham’s Girls, but it has a bounce and vitality that is inimitably its own.”

Obvious Child has a very fresh rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes already.

No official trailer has been released yet but you can learn more about the movie from the Sundance info page as well as Obvious Child’s official Facebook.

Obvious Child opens in theaters starting June 6!
