Kevin Smith has been making films for over twenty five years and is still going strong. Smith is well versed in front and behind the camera. Smith along with his best pal Jason Mewes have been portraying Jay and Silent Bob since 1994 when Smith made his directorial debut with Clerks. Smith was able to tap the vein of American pop culture with his characters and the rest is history.
Last year many people who lived busy lives were forced to stay home due to Covid. Hollywood pretty much had to shut down. Many popular productions had to be halted, and we wait as a public to see what the future holds. Kevin Smith was home a lot just like the rest of us and had a lot of time to watch shows and movies. If you follow Smith on any of his social media platforms you know he is a big softie for a good story. Pretty much anything Star Wars or Marvel related that he watches will make him cry.
Even though Smith may cry a lot, but he sure is a busy guy. This year his animated series Masters of Universe will be hitting Netflix. Smith is also in the midst of writing the script for Mallrats 2 and has a few other secret projects in the works that will surely please his fans. Kevin Smith’s famed Jersey comic book shop the Secret Stash is also moving down the street to a larger location.
My first insight into the world of Kevin Smith was the film Mallrats and I’m super excited to see what the character’s from the first film are up too. What Kevin Smith project are you looking forward to the most this year? Leave your comments below.
