New Casting Details Revealed For ‘The Office’ Spin-off

Greg Daniels’ long-awaited spinoff series of “The Office” is finally taking shape.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sabrina Impacciatore (known for “The White Lotus”) and Domhnall Gleeson (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” “White House Plumbers”) have been cast as the first two actors in the upcoming series.

Daniels, co-creator of the US version of “The Office,” has emphasized that the new series is a spinoff rather than a reboot, although it will share the same universe as the original show.

“I don’t like to think of anything as a reboot,” Daniels explained previously. “Because I feel like we ended that story beautifully. The characters had closure. I would never want to redo that same show with a different cast, because I think we got the luckiest cast, the best cast ever, in TV, to do that show. So the notion of a reboot is not of interest.”

Impacciatore is best known for her role as Valentina in the second season of HBO’s “The White Lotus.” Meanwhile, Gleeson, the son of actor Brendan Gleeson, gained recognition for his portrayal of General Armitage Hux in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. He has also appeared in notable films such as “Ex Machina” and “The Revenant.”

More recently, Gleeson has starred in television series such as “White House Plumbers” and “The Patient,” which incidentally featured a co-starring role by “The Office’s” Steve Carell.

Production is slated to begin sometime later this year!
