To Teach Their Kids A Lesson Utah Parents Cancel Christmas

(PCM) In a move that has sparked both praise and outrage, Utah parents John and Linda Henderson decided to cancel Christmas this year in order to teach their children a lesson about respect.

Lisa Henderson is a stay at home mom and founder of the blog Over The Moon, where she first posted the news about she and her husband’s decision to cancel the holiday. She claims that they gave their children, three boys ages 5, 8 and 11, fair warning that if they did not change their behavior there would be consequences.

Lisa goes on to say that she and her husband have been struggling for months to teach their children to change their often disrespectful and entitled behavior.… Full Story

Barbie Has Some Realistic Competition With The Lammily Doll This Holiday Season

(PCM) Finally, there is a doll are the market that is sure to give Barbie a run for her money, with her realistic proportions and average size measurements called Lammily.

The doll was created by 26-year old  Nickolay Lamm who launched a crowd-funding campaign last March to bring his vision of the “anti-Barbie” into production. The Lammily doll has hips, thighs, and a backside that are proportioned to appear like an average 19-year old woman.

Lamm came up for the idea for the doll in hopes that it would urge people to forget about their bodies in general and focus more on what they can do rather than what they look like.… Full Story

Two Women Camp Outside Of Best Buy 22 Days Prior To Black Friday!

(PCM) Now this is just getting ridiculous! Two women have set up camp outside of the Best Buy store in Beaumont, California in order to ensure their place being first in line for the retailers upcoming Black Friday sales.

Keep in mind there are still 22 days left before Black Friday! Talk about dedication to deals! The two women say that they are camped out to be able to obtain the many “first come, first serve” deals that Best Buy will be offering when they open up their doors at 5:00pm on Thanksgiving night.

The store will be closing again at 1:00am on Thanksgiving night only to re-open again at 8:00am on Friday.… Full Story

Holiday Names Removed From A Maryland Public School Calendar

(PCM) Folks in Maryland’s Montgomery County are outraged over the area school boards recent decision to have names of holidays such as Christmas and Easter, as well as, Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah stricken from next year’s school calendar.

According to the Washington Post, the Montgomery County school board voted 7 to 1 to eliminate the references to all religious holidays on the school’s calendar for 2015-2016. The issue was brought to a vote after Muslim community leaders requested that the Muslim Holy Day of Eid al-Adha be listed on the calendars as well.

The school district claims that students will still be off for both the Christian and Jewish holidays, however they will just not be labeled on the calendar in print.… Full Story

Walken To Play Hook

(PCM) Last year NBC brought back live musical theater with it’s December production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. This year NBC will again provide us with another musical classic Peter Pan on December 4th. It has been reported that Christopher Walken has signed on to play Captain Hook in this classic tale of the boy who doesn’t grow up. It has yet to be announced who will take the iconic part of Peter Pan. But NBC has promised it will stick to theater tradition and the part will be played by a woman. Some of the stars who have played Peter were Mary Martin in the original musical cast. Sandy Duncan in the 1980s, and Kathy Rigby in the 1990s.
