Amazon Studios has closed a three-picture and first-look film deal with Academy Award-nominee and Emmy Award winner Eddie Murphy, it was announced today. Under the pact, Murphy will star in three films for Amazon Studios and develop original film projects for Prime Video and Studios with the potential to star. he deal formalizes Murphy’s relationship with Amazon Studios on the heels of the success of Coming 2 America. Amazon is certainly sparing no budget for highly anticipated “Lord Of The Rings” series, as they have already reportedly spent a billion dollars on the project. While the first season is currently filming in New Zealand, it has just been revealed that the upcoming series has already been renewed for a season two! Amazon has plans to take the series over five seasons, with a possible spin-off and purchased the adaptation rights from the Tolkien Estate. Jennifer Salke, president of Amazon Studios, also said that season 2 writers were already meeting to write their first scripts. After the first two episodes of the series are completed by J. A.
