During today’s exciting Comic-Con@Home panel for HBO and BBC’s HIS DARK MATERIALS, fans were treated to the first official trailer for the upcoming second season of the drama series. Included in the trailer is the very first glimpse at the mysterious city of Cittàgaze as well as footage of new season 2 cast members Andrew Scott (“John Parry”), Jade Anouka (“Ruta Skadi”), and Simone Kirby (“Dr. Mary Malone”), who join returning cast Dafne Keen (“Lyra”), Ruth Wilson (“Mrs Coulter”), Ariyon Bakare (“Lord Boreal”), Amir Wilson (“Will”) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Lee Scoresby”). In the second season of HIS DARK MATERIALS, Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra (Dafne Keen) follows Asriel into the unknown. In a strange and mysterious abandoned city she meets Will (Amir Wilson), a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past. We went and saw a movie I have been waiting all year to see, IT Chapter Two. The movie will hit theater’s this week and will surely be a delight for fans of Stephen King and his killer clown creation Pennywise. The movie was well worth the wait, and don’t be surprised if you see more Pennywise costumes this Halloween. Pennywise has returned after a twenty-seven-year slumber and begins feasting on the children of Derry once more. The Loser’s Club who first defeated Pennywise years before must return to their old town to defeat the killer clown once and for all. Whoever did the casting to cast the adult Loser’s should win an award. Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean all portray the adult Losers. I got to admit Bill Hader hit it out of the park playing adult Richie Tozier is a very successful comedian, but after learning about Derry, he loses all his confidence. San Diego Comic-Con would not be complete without checking out the annual ScareDiego event and this year in its’ new location at the Spreckles Theater we know that we would be in for a “frightful” treat. This year thanks to New Line and Warner Bros. we got our first look at “IT: Chapter 2” with a brand new trailer that will be released later today and several clips highlight key scenes from the upcoming film. The full adult cast of “IT: Chapter 2” was on hand along with director Andy Muschietti and the event was hosted by Conan O’Brien. It was fantastic to witness just how much this cast loves and respects Muschetti as they sang his praises throughout the evenings programs. Actor Bill Hader told us, “Andy, is great and he is the best” and actress Jessica Chastain,who prevously worked with Muschetti on “Mama”, added, “I love him [Muschetti] so much! He is one of those very strange people who are just good at absolutely anything!” The cast even joked at one point about asking Muschetti what he wanted …
