Batman v Superman prequel to Justice League Cuts Out Origin Stories

(PCM) With Marvel owning all the news at NY Comic-Con, you’d think DC would have released this news just a few days sooner.

But in DC fashion, better late than never.

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara pandered to major investors in a meeting today the full schedule of DC movies beginning with Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016.

“The demand for high quality video content is growing fast – in the United States and around the world – as new technologies have created new platforms and millions of new connected consumers,” said Tsujihara. “The opportunity is huge. And no studio is better positioned to take advantage of it than Warner Bros.”

(PCM) DC’s parent company Warner Brothers recently revealed in a Wall Street Journal article back in April 2014 that Batman V Superman (March 25, 2016) will not be a Justice League movie in disguise. If it’s not already obvious, it will be a prequel to the Justice League and tied to it in a similar shared universe like Marvel’s many recent superhero films. Shocking news eh? Yet somehow that was meant to be a surprise revelation by Warner Bros. President Greg Silverman, “It will be a further expansion of this universe. Superman vs Batman will lead into Justice League.”

What we did learn from Silverman is that Justice League may film immediately on the heels of Batman vs Superman completion and we may see it hit the big screen in 2018.

Warner Bros. Pictures Announces Nine New DC Comics Films

Warner-Brothers-logo(PCM) The world of superhero movies and franchises has been growing faster than bamboo in the past couple of years and DC Comics and Warner Bros. Pictures are continuing to expand this universe with their recent announcement of nine new films to come in the next four years.

What we know so far is that the nine films are currently titled “Untitled DC Film” and will be released between August 5, 2016 and June 19, 2020.

There are also two “Untitled WB Event Film” projects listed that some are speculating could be the first and second Justice League films or Harry Potter spin-offs, like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The films and their release dates follow:

(PCM) Let’s face it, no one on set can leak a photo without costing them a job. The prequel film to Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is possibly the most secretive set being shot at the present time. But local TV in Detroit Michigan did get get great aerial footage from their news chopper. TV news station WXYZ in Detroit grabbed video from which these images were taken.

The shots appear to show mock fallen building debris covering references of Metropolis and and Batman’s Wayne Enterprises.
