Christopher Dennis, AKA Hollywood Boulevard Superman, will be laid to rest with a funeral service at the Old North Church on Saturday, December 7th at 12pm, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive. A benefactor, who wishes to remain anonymous, came forward with a generous gift to fulfill Dennis’s final wishes, and Chris will be buried in his costume. The service is open to the public. “Chris and I spoke of his final wishes, as many friends do. He had expressed it was his wish to be buried, in his costume. His wife, Bonnie Finkenthal Dennis, and I hoped to be able to do so, but the cost was prohibitive for us, even with the crowdfunding campaign but we worked hard to make that happen and kept on hoping for a miracle,” said director Vlad Kozlov. “I was surprised, shocked, and delighted for Chris when an anonymous benefactor came forward to cover the majority of the funeral costs, and that, combined with the crowdfunding campaign donations, will enable Christopher to get the sendoff he hoped to have, and he will be buried in his Superman …

Thank You Conrad Thompson For Making Wrestling Fun Again

Podcasting has hit the mainstream. Everyone seems to have a podcast. I even have a podcast. Some of these podcasts can be entertaining and some borderline on pulling teeth.  One man from the great state of Alabama has been entertaining fans with his various podcasts for quite some time. What is the subject of these podcasts? Professional Wrestling or Sports Entertainment for those of you in the New York area. “ The best thing since wrestling.” As Eminem says in his song Without Me. Conrad Thompson who has been a life- long wrestling fan, and host’s four of the hottest podcasts about the subject. Conrad has some pretty good company while hosting these podcasts. The four men who Conrad co-hosts the podcast with all have extreme knowledge of the subject. All four men have at one time been employed by the mighty successful WWE. With the knowledge they have and the comrade and friendship they have with Conrad each podcast is a fun and entertaining listen. The four men that Conrad shares the mic with are Jim Ross a former …

‘Game Of Thrones’ Creators Drop From Rumored ‘Star Wars’ Project

One announcement, other than the lackluster season finale of HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” that had everyone buzzing was that GOT creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were gearing up to work with Lucasfilm on a new “Star Wars” trilogy. This news broke right around the same time that Benioff and Weiss had announced a partnership with Netflix for which they are supposed to helm nine productions. It has not yet been revealed whether or not these will be film or television projects. News has now been revealed that the pair are now no longer linked to any “Star Wars” film project, as they said, “We love Star Wars”, the pair said in a statement to Deadline. “When George Lucas built it, he built us too. Getting to talk about Star Wars with him and the current Star Wars team was the thrill of a lifetime, and we will always be indebted to the saga that changed everything.” It is obvious that despite the “Game Of Thrones” backlash the pair definitely have a lot on their plate coming up and we are definitely intrigued to see what …

AHS 1984 Review

The 1980s are back in all its hokeyness, thanks to AHS 1984. The series is back for its ninth bloody season. The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. This season of AHS was heavily influenced by slasher films like Halloween and Friday the 13th. I have been looking forward to this series ever since San Diego Comic-Con when I took part in a walkthrough that FX hosted on the lawn of the Hilton Bayfront. Everything about the walkthrough was amazing including the actors and the props used once you walked through the doors to Camp Redwood. You can check out our awesome review here. https://www.ageofthenerd.com/2019/08/our-exciting-adventure-at-the-fx-fearless-forum-at-san-diego-comic-con/ Were only two episodes into the seven-episode season, and blood has already spilled. A lot of fans were upset when news broke that Evan Peters would not be returning this season, but the show must go on. In 1984 Brooke Thompson ( Emma Roberts) is attacked by the Night Stalker. Brooke meets some new friends at a local aerobics’ studio. Because of Brooke’s past trauma, she decided to leave town with her new …

Eddie Vedder And Sean Penn Through the Years Of Music And Film

This weekend the annual Ohana Music Festival is taking place at Doherty State Park in sunny California. The festival headliners include The Strokes, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats, Glen Hansard,  Eddie Vedder, Incubus, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Pearl Jam is my favorite band. And if you are a fan of music you have probably discovered other music and art through that music. I discovered Neil Young, The Ramones, and The La’s just to name a few while listening to Pearl Jam. I also discovered actor Sean Penn. One of the first albums I ever bought was Pearl Jam’s album Yield. While thumbing through the booklet that came with the CD, I found the picture that went along with the song IN HIDING. There really isn’t any lyrics to the song, but a little written message at the bottom of the page “ Thanks Sean”. And since there is no other member of Pearl Jam with the first name Sean, I thought I made a discovery that only I knew about. That the song was kind of in …

Emmys 2019! Who Were The Big Winners!

The 2019 Emmy Awards were held Sunday night, September 22nd at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California and there were plenty of stand-out moments and quite a few surprises throughout the evening. For one, there was no host. This is the first time since 2003 that the Emmy Awards had no official host and they seemed to be following the same path that the Academy Awards took earlier this year. HBO’s “Game Of Thrones” which was nominated for a whopping 32 Emmy’s won big in it’s final season taking home the Emmy Award for Best Drama Series. This year also marks the first time that an openly gay black man took home the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series with Billy Porters highly deserved win for his role in the amazing FX series “Pose”. Many speeches throughout the evening were aimed at equality and full of passion especially the incredibly moving speech from actress Patricia Arquette in regards to trans rights and Alex Borstein’s heartfelt tribute to her grandmother who was a holocaust survivor. You …

‘Eden: A Skillet Graphic Novel’ Is A Must-Read For Both Comic And Music Fans!

Z2 Comics partnered up with rock band Skillet to release a graphic novel titled “Eden: A Skillet Graphic Novel” and we have to say that it is an absolute must-read for both comic and music fans alike. The story surrounded the main characters John and Korey along with the help from ex-soldier Seth and cyborg Jen on their quest to protect their loved ones from a group of zealots that steal a machine that served as a protection device and eventually lead them all into redemption. The story sucked us in from beginning to end with its amazingly vivid imagery and immersive storyline. While many of us are most familiar with Skillet’s musical works, it is fascinating to see what they were able to bring to the table when working in another creative medium. “Eden: A Skillet Graphic Novel” was co-written by John Cooper of Skillet along with Random Shock Studio writers Alex Paknadel and Dan Watters and Chris Hunt served as the graphic artist. The story kept us on the edge of our seats while reading as you feel …

IT Chapter Two Review

We went and saw a movie I have been waiting all year to see, IT Chapter Two. The movie will hit theater’s this week and will surely be a delight for fans of Stephen King and his killer clown creation Pennywise. The movie was well worth the wait, and don’t be surprised if you see more Pennywise costumes this Halloween. Pennywise has returned after a twenty-seven-year slumber and begins feasting on the children of Derry once more. The Loser’s Club who first defeated Pennywise years before must return to their old town to defeat the killer clown once and for all. Whoever did the casting to cast the adult Loser’s should win an award. Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean all portray the adult Losers. I got to admit Bill Hader hit it out of the park playing adult Richie Tozier is a very successful comedian, but after learning about Derry, he loses all his confidence. Just like the 2017 film, IT Chapter Two follows the 1986 novel by horror writer …

Joaquin Phoenix Is A Perfect Fit for The Joker

We are only a few months away from the premiere of the Joker. Joaquin Phoenix will portray the infamous villain from the DC universe. The Joker has been portrayed by many well- known actors, but for a stand-alone origin story will Joaquin Phoenix be able to portray the Joker in due fashion? The simple answer to the question above is YES. Phoenix is an amazing actor with a wide range in history with the roles he has portrayed. He has been nominated for various awards including the Academy Awards for his work in Gladiator, Walk the Line, and The Master. Even when he’s not on a film set Phoenix can still make people talk about his performance. This was the case all the way back in 2009 when he appeared on the David Letterman show. During his appearance, Joaquin looked unkept and was wearing sunglasses and was just weird. His appearance got many people talking including myself. Joaquin would appear a year and a half later again on David Letterman’s show and apologized to Letterman and explained that It was …

Seth Rogen Is A Busy Guy

I once waved to Seth Rogen at San Diego Comic-Con where he was attending a panel for the AMC show Preacher. Rogen is an executive producer on the show and attends Comic-Con on the regular. He never waved back, but hey I tried. Preacher is on its fourth and final season on AMC and airs on Sunday nights. The series finale will air on September 29th. Rogen seems like a likable guy, and usually plays the kind of character you would want to hang out with. In many of his movies, he plays a stoner and I would go as far as to say he’s Canada ‘s answer to Willie Nelson. Rogen might play a stoner on screen, but he is busy in front of and behind the camera. According to IMDB Seth Rogen has 95 acting credits to his name. That’s a lot of work. Rogen is also a producer on the hit Amazon Prime show The Boys. The show revolves around a group of superheroes well that are not that nice and sometimes very evil. Out …
